Rose Velasquez

President

Passion led me here… A native of Arizona, my family and I relocated to Albuquerque in 2002. In no time, I began to see why NM is the land of enchantment! I believe throughout life your purpose changes many times. For the first 8 years in Albuquerque, my passion was raising my three children. So, I devoted my time and energy trying to instill values and morals in my children and to help them find their true individual strengths and passions. In 2010, I returned to my career as an executive recruiter and found an entirely new purpose! I quickly realized that often, our truest passions emerge in childhood, only to be squelched by real life pressures. So, think about what you loved long before you had to worry about your career. Writing? Science experiments? Taking care of people? Helping others get in touch with those instincts and matching them with amazing companies that share their excitement and passion is where both truly find success! So, why am I so passionate about recruiting, executive search and matching people with the right jobs? Well, People spend about 1/3 of their adult lives at work. Using my ability to help a person find the right career where their strengths are valued is very rewarding. We all know that passionate employees build amazingly productive work teams. The difference I make in people’s lives and in my client’s culture and profitability is very fulfilling. The impact of a recruiter is twofold: first, you can literally change the life of an individual by placing them in their dream job, and second, you can effectively change the direction and the success of a corporation with a single great hire in a key position! Melissa Alonso

VP of Recruiting

Originating from Pennsylvania, I attended Penn State University with a major in Business Administration. My career has been a rewarding journey working with esteemed companies such as Ajilon Finance, Lucas Group, and most recently, Google through Randstad Sourceright. This path has granted me a comprehensive understanding of diverse industries and roles, alongside various recruitment methods, including leveraging AI techniques for more advanced searches. With over 15 years of experience spanning all facets of recruitment, I prioritize maintaining high standards and unwavering integrity. My expertise also encompasses high-level accounting, finance, administration, and HR roles.

Throughout my career, I’ve achieved numerous milestones and successes.  I believe in delving deep with candidates to truly understand their visions and goals, mentoring them, and offering resume assistance, and recommendations while upholding top-notch integrity. I aim to exhibit my passion, care, and commitment to guiding them through every step of the process.

Beyond my professional endeavors, my enthusiasm extends to my family, including my three children and two dogs. During my free time, I find solace in beach vacations or high-mountain camping adventures.

Merlinda Sandoval

Business Development Manager

I began my career in the recruiting and staffing industry over 20 years ago in the Bay Area of California. In 2014, I was promoted to an international recruiting division in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico. Along with my dedication and commitment to excellence, I quickly understand the needs of my clients and candidates alike. With a consultative approach, I attract excellent candidates at both the professional and blue-collar levels. I pride myself on my in-depth interview process, which enables me to specialize in several fields. I am truly a “people person” and have a special knack for providing my clients with candidates that have the right soft skills to match the company’s culture. I bring extensive knowledge of the recruiting industry based on my 20 years of experience to our boutique national staffing firm.

I am passionate about giving back to our community. I have partnered with several second-chance organizations across our community and am truly devoted to diversity and inclusion. Bilingual in English and Spanish, I would love to speak to you today about your career goals!

Known for her proactive communication, strategic mindset, and genuine care for both candidates and employers, Jennifer takes pride in helping businesses grow while empowering individuals to thrive in their careers. Whether she’s developing new client relationships, attending job fairs, or matching skilled professionals with the right roles, Jennifer approaches every task with dedication, integrity, and heart.

Outside of work, Jennifer is a devoted mother and values the importance of family, growth, and balance in both personal and professional life.

Marilyn Soveranez

Recruiter

Born and raised in Santa Fe, and one of 16 siblings, my passion for talent acquisition and recruiting began in my hometown. Since moving to Albuquerque, I’ve had the privilege of working with some outstanding staffing companies. With 15 years of experience in the industry, I’m driven by a love for people, finding great satisfaction in helping others and giving back to my community. Understanding the needs of both clients and candidates is central to my approach. While the work can be challenging, the rewards of making meaningful connections are immeasurable.

Outside of my career, I’m an avid sports enthusiast, enjoying baseball, basketball, and football, especially watching my family play. I cherish being around people, meeting new faces, and building lasting friendships. God has always been a part of everything I do. Let’s connect and see how I can help you!

We are committed to providing the highest level of service and upholding our values and ethical standards in all of our company activities. That’s why we’ve partnered with CNM and UNM to hold mock-interviews for students who want to practice their skills.

Rose Velasquez served on the Human Resource Management Association of New Mexico’s board of directors for six years, ending her service as President of the board in 2016 and Past President in 2017, prior to being selected for the State chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management. HRMA provides HR professionals throughout the greater Albuquerque area with a forum for networking and career development.

SHRM, the Society for Human Resource Management, creates better workplaces where employers and employees thrive together. As the voice of all things work, workers, and the workplace, SHRM is the foremost expert on issues impacting today’s evolving workplaces. Rose Velasquez is in her third year as a state board member and is most proud of her work lobbying in Washington, DC where she participated in direct lobbying with member advocacy campaigns to influence HR public policy.

Hiring Hub is passionate about children’s charities and we are proud of our continued partnership with Rotary Del Sol to support the New Mexico Governors Charity Ball. Since 2003, the NM Governors Charity Ball has raised almost $1 million dollars for local children’s charities.
